There are major moments in cultural history where music is described as a guiding mechanism—helping a person to transcend, the act of engaging with music an affirmation of the soul and God. The Apartment Session with Sam Weinberg and Henry Fraser is improvisational noise jazz, without rehearsal or composed structure. In many ways, both the production and consumption of improvisational music is a rejection of the traditional expectations. In denying a historical and deeply-sown anticipation for structure, improvisational music becomes iconoclastic, a bacchic affirmation of the corporeal. this video is an abstract representation of the first steps into the physical world/first-person perspective of childbirth.
