Lyrics
The birds call through the darkness and it reaches to my cell. Keep fingering the pills out of their bottles till they’re gone. We’re hollow-eyed in the dark halls with no windows to look out. They’re watching all our mind-games and they’re writing them all down.
They laugh at how my mind knows that I’ve heard my mother’s call. When my heaven is above me and it swindles the poor dawn. Which shines so whitely without a cup of instant smile. He’ll get his oh his blood in blood out for the cause.
I tremble while my mind aches but they tell me it does good. The serum in my body unlike water moves me slow. It holds me till I’m under its spell and its control. And then I start to wonder why I can’t hear those birds no more.
